Bamboo is a natural resource that is resilient and that is plentiful. It grows quickly and can grow in just about any climate. Of course the quick easy prolific growth makes this one of the easily renewable natural resources.

The growth factor plays a big role in making bamboo fiber preferable over cotton fiber. Bamboo requires about 1/3 the amount of water to grow that cotton requires. It is naturally pest resistant as well. The fibers are much longer which means less of it needs to be grown to get the same yield of fabric.

Bamboo fiber is superior in every way to cotton fiber when it comes to growing attributes.

1) Softness and Less Irritation

For people that are allergic to other natural fibers like wool or hemp, bamboo fibers may be an excellent option. The fabric that is produced from Bamboo fibers is compared to Cashmere because it is so soft.

The fibers of Bamboo are naturally rounded without any processing. The fibers of cotton are prickly and have to be processed heavily to get that itchy feeling out.

Even people with the most sensitive skin can wear bamboo fiber clothing right next to their skin without any irritation at all.

2) Anti Bacterial Qualities Naturally

Bamboo fibers are naturally anti bacterial. There is a bio agent present in the fibers that make bamboo naturally anti bacterial and anti fungal. The Bamboo Kun agent makes bamboo material odor resistant even after many washings.

Cotton of course can not provide the same odor free protection.

3) Insulating and Wicking Properties

Cotton material is very absorbent but not quite as absorbent as bamboo. Bamboo can hold up to three times its weight in water and some of this ability is transferred to fabric that is sourced from bamboo fibers. It has excellent wicking properties it pulls moisture from the body allowing it to evaporate.

Bamboo also has insulating properties that are not present in cotton.

4) Affordability

Bamboo grows faster, it has longer fibers, it uses less space and water all of these qualities make it a much more affordable fiber than cotton. It is also easier to dye than cotton which of course means that there is less product overall that is required in the manufacturing process.

Bamboo fiber is an excellent alternative to cotton fibers because it is a greener choice and simply performs better!

Natural Bamboo Flannel

Bamboo fiber is sourced from one of the most prolific plants on the planet.
